Hi, everybody:D
This is Helena from Toronto, Canada.
Today's post is the first cafe review from Montrealš„³
As I mentioned in my previous posting, I stayed in the Mile-End neighbourhood for a couple of days during this trip.

Mile-end district is :
It's been known as a cultural hub and the residence of many artists, musicians, writers, and filmmakers since the 1980s.
Just like Paris's famous cafƩ district in the 6th arrondissement or Hongdae in Korea.
It seems that many cafes and restaurants with a sense of style were opened as various artists gathered around here since a long time ago. That's why the espresso in numerous cafes here is all delicious and people who look like a movie star are walking around the street and reading books in cafes.
On weekends,
there is an incredibly fashionable atmosphere with Hollywood-like people,
and my heart was pounding with excitement at every place I went to.š
The cafƩ I'm going to introduce today is
<Bar Le Sparrow>, a vintage-inspired brunch and cocktail bar.
I'm posting about this cafƩ first because it was the most impressive one throughout several cafes I've tried.
I wasn't originally supposed to go there but where I was going was closed.
So I went to this place just for checking out.
And it was,
WOW!
It was like being on a movie set!
So sad that I couldn't take pictures of people and deliver exactly how I feltšµ
Everyone was pretty, handsome, fashionable, and cool like actors,
and the cafĆ©'s atmosphere was so nice.š
interior
The interior design and atmosphere were truly vintage and retro.
If you search on Google, it's called a vintage-inspired bar or retro bar,
and you could feel that vibe in the interior and atmosphere.

And actually,
The best part was the customers, who looked like they came straight out of a Hollywood movie. I'm just sad that I can't show them to you.
I took a photo of a reflection in the window as It was unable to photograph the people directly.š
And me as well heheš
Menu

Here is the menu.
I rolled my eyes over the menu items on the other tables, they all looked so delicious that I couldn't decide what to order. The Shakshuka and Naan egg sandwich looked so, so good but after serious consideration, I decided to try my all-time favourite brunch dish,
French toastš
Hmmš§
Even though I usually prefer a more healthy taste, so it wasn't exactly my style,
it was definitely delicious.
The crispy crumble French toast and sweet apple compote(fruits boiled with sugar) combined very well with each otheršš»

Friend's order, Fried eggs with Sage, was like a perfect brunch plate.
I don't even need to describe it - just look at this painted-looking visual!
Looks delicious, doesn't it?!
I had a brewed coffee to drink and it was also great.
My friend ordered London Fog.
They have a tea room upstairs where they make tea-based drinks.
London Fog with high-quality tea was very flavourful.šāļø
I also tried wearing sunglasses (indoors) to be one of the cool crowdš
Look like a hipster..?
(Reality was that I was just too distracted by the food)
Conclusion
I loved the food, coffee and atmosphere at 'Bar Le Sparrow'.
It exceeded my expectations by far,
and I definitely want to visit again to try more of their menu.šš»šš»šš»
Alright!
That's all for a Montreal cafĆ© tour number 1, which has more chatter than the information hahaš
Stay tuned for more cafĆ© reviews in Montreal, coming up! šš»š
Hopefully, see you soonšš»

Helena, I love your sweater and glasses! You look like a Parisienneš
Very cool glasses :D That's probably the best looking french toast I've ever seen....! There's nothing better than doing something unexpected and being blown away
very hipster!
