- The first step to becoming a vegetarian gradually adopting vegan life.
Throughout the 8 weeks of experience at this Easeland farm, a variety of changes are happening in my life. One of the things that I want to share today is my Dietary Habit, which actually is not just about how I eat.
It is gradually changing my entire life-style.
<My Previous Dietary Habits>
(Which made me absolutely unhealthy)
After encountering health problems following surgery (you can read about the details in my previous blog 💕), I always kind of ’Tried’ to have a healthier diet.
It seemed like it was getting better(as far as I believed😅) but I continued to struggle with my health issues. I couldn’t quite figure out how to and where to fix it.
Even after I came to Canada, I gained more than 10 pounds.
This left me genuinely lost: 'What's the matter with my eating habits?'
I believed I was making some efforts, or at least trying to do so in a good manner.
In the meantime, I had the opportunity to visit Easeland Organic Farm, a place for hosting meditation retreats.
During my time there, I had the pleasure of meeting the Electric Vegan Sisters.
I enjoyed meals prepared not only by the vegan girls but also by people who cooked with joy, gratitude, and a warm heart.
These dishes were incredibly healthy, amazing delicious and at the same time, these were deeply satisfying.
I found myself really enjoying the food and I came to a realization:
I thought I had a somewhat healthy diet.
I believed I was making an effort to eat healthily, but it wasn't a consistent 100%.
I didn't want to spend much time on cooking and was always seeking something simple.
As a result, my menu became repetitive, and I couldn’t feel satisfied.
Unbeknownst to me, I kept snacking, craving more food, and indulging in sweets, and before I knew it, my diet had taken a turn for the unhealthy.
(Something I didn't even realize... 🤣🤣🤣)"
Whenever you fully commit and dive in with 100% determination, things become easier.
I changed my mind.
If I want to maintain a healthy lifestyle and follow a balanced diet, I should prepare my own meals. If I have to cook for the rest of my life, perhaps I'll embrace it and find joy in the process!
After all, eating is a daily necessity, and dedicating an hour each day or every other day is a significant portion of our time. Rather than complaining about circumstances beyond my control, I've chosen to take charge.
I decided to break free from repetitive, unhealthy habits and make my day more enjoyable and happy!😁
From that moment, I tried to learn as much as I could from cooking team and vegan sisters, wrote down recipes and have an interest in what I am eating.
(Rather than what I can not eat.)
I made my mind as 100% for cooking, loving my body and having a healthy eating habit.
Once I changed my mind, every step of the processes became truly fun!
But why vegetarian/vegan?
Not Healthy diet always means Vegetarian.
There are not much a great reason for ‘me’ to change my diet as a vegetarian.
Just for me, I've found that a vegan diet and menu suit me well and make my body feel healthier. As well as I naturally love vegetables a loooooot.
I had a gall-bladder surgery and after that, I was already avoiding meats and diary products.
During my time in Easeland, I just tried to quit eating meat completely for few weeks by recommendation or vegan sisters.
I could feel many differences in my body condition.
I was way more energetic, my body was lighter and my stomach was comfortable.
And all the vegetarian option foods just tasted better for me as well.
Despite having a preference for vegetarian foods, the reason I hadn't fully embraced a 'Vegetarian/Vegan' lifestyle was simply due to my own laziness.
I didn’t want to cook a lot, consume my energy to ‘alter my menu’.
However, that problem has solved by the experiences in Easeland, it was just the natural procedure🤨
I decided my mind to enjoy cooking for myself and changing my diet habit to a vegetarian, slowly to a vegan.
I came back to Canada and started cooking.
Followed by what I learnt from my lovely people.💕
I am so happy to cook something happy, delicious and fulfilling for myself.
Most importantly, this is genuinely fun!
I always didn’t much like cooking.
It was a time managing process which I am really bad at.
Probably I haven’t had enough reasons and purposes above it.
Now I have a right reason and purpose, wonderful memories of cooking and healthy meal and I determined 100% in my mind to change my diet.
So everything is so easy and fun:)
I will keep sharing my journey of becoming a vegetarian -> vegan.
Please support my with all love and
Let’s live happy, joyful and healthy life!🤩
Love you and see you soon! (Hopefully🙏🏻💕)
